What we Believe
SIMPLE Principles: A Framework for Living a Christ-Centered Life
At Peace Haven, we live by six foundational principles summarized in the acronym SIMPLE. These principles guide our faith, actions, and community as we pursue a life that glorifies God and fulfills His mission.
S – Scripture is True
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is true, authoritative, and foundational to understanding all truth. Scripture not only reveals God’s character but also provides direction for our lives. By deeply engaging with God’s Word through study and meditation, we align our hearts, minds, and actions with His will.
“All Scripture is divinely inspired and is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.” – 2 Timothy 3:16
I – Intimacy with God is Pursued
Our most important relationship is with God. Pursuing intimacy with Him is our highest priority. As we love and worship Him with all our heart, soul, and mind, He reveals His purpose for our lives and fills our hearts with peace and meaning. This intimacy spills over into fellowship with other believers, uniting us in our shared mission.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” – Matthew 22:37
M – Mission is Accepted
Our mission is to reveal God’s true nature by following Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and building relationships that guide others to reconciliation with Him. Every believer is called to participate in God’s mission. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are made priests and granted direct access to God. The Holy Spirit has equipped us with unique gifts and talents to serve Him. In the body of Christ, there are no class divisions, each of us has a vital role. Together, we fulfill His work on earth, not as spectators but as active participants, united as one body in His mission.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” – 1 Peter 2:9
P – Prayer is Practiced
Prayer is our lifeline to God. It is both a personal act of devotion and a collective act of worship. Through prayer, we seek His guidance, wisdom, and power for the journey ahead. Whether praying individually or as a community, we trust in His promises to hear and respond.
“Again, truly I tell you, if two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them.” – Matthew 18:19-20
L – Leadership is Encouraged
God calls each of us to serve, lead, and take responsibility in His kingdom. Leadership isn’t reserved for a select few, it’s an opportunity for every believer to live out their calling. By stepping into our God-given responsibilities, we experience a sense of purpose and meaning that only comes from serving Him and others. “Whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your servant.” Matthew 20:27
E – Empowerment is by the Spirit
Living out our calling requires strength beyond our own. Through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to live the life God has called us to live. The Spirit equips us with wisdom, boldness, and perseverance, enabling us to glorify God in all we do. By combining the Spirit’s empowerment, Scripture’s teaching, fervent prayer, and fellowship with other believers, we are strengthened to fulfill God’s purpose.
“Not by strength or by might, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of Armies. – Zechariah 4:6
Living Out SIMPLE
These six principles form the foundation of Peace Haven’s mission. As we faithfully follow them, we become a unified community, glorifying God through worship, service, and discipleship. Will you join us in living out these principles and making an eternal impact?
Our Missi
We also accept the Apostle’s Creed as a clear statement of our faith.
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
Born of the Virgin Mary
Suffered under Pontius Pilate
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended to the place of the dead.
On the third day, He rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
He is seated at the right hand of God the Father, Almighty.
He will come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
